In the presence of the Church, they promise to love and honor each other for life, and God blesses and strengthens that union with His grace.<br><br>Through this sacrament, a couple\u2019s love becomes a living sign of Christ\u2019s faithful love for the Church. Marriage is meant to be permanent, faithful, and open to life. They use visible signs, such as water, oil, bread, wine, and words, to bring about God\u2019s invisible grace in our lives.
