Support Blessed Sacrament School Through the Ohio SGO Tax Credit Program
There is a remarkable opportunity for families, parishioners, alumni, and friends of Blessed Sacrament School to provide scholarship support to our students at no additional cost to you. As residents of Ohio, individuals may donate any amount up to $750, and married couples filing jointly may donate up to $1,500, to an approved Scholarship Granting Organization. In return, the State of Ohio will provide a dollar for dollar tax credit that can be applied directly to your 2025 Ohio tax return.
This means that as long as your Ohio tax liability is equal to or greater than your donation amount, you can donate up to $750 or $1,500 and receive the same amount back as a credit. As an example, if you owe $150 in Ohio income tax, you may donate $150 through the SGO and your state tax liability becomes zero. If you decide to donate $300, you will receive $150 back as a refund from the State of Ohio. Please consult your tax advisor for how this applies to your personal situation.
The Diocese of Toledo Scholarship Fund is the official SGO for all diocesan Catholic schools. Donations made through this fund can be designated for Blessed Sacrament School. One hundred percent of the contributions received and designated for our school will be awarded directly to our families in the form of scholarships. These funds help bridge the gap between EdChoice vouchers and actual tuition costs, making a Catholic education more accessible. In 2025, Blessed Sacrament School was able to award scholarships to sixteen students through the generosity of donors participating in this program.
To make a contribution, visit www.dotsgo.org. Select the Donate option and choose either the online giving form or the check option. You may then designate Blessed Sacrament School as the recipient. You may donate at any time, and donations made by April 15, 2026 can still be applied to your 2025 Ohio tax return.
If you have questions about how the SGO program works or would like additional assistance, please contact Dan Dougherty, Director of Mission Advancement for the Diocese of Toledo, at ddougherty@tolediodiocese.org or 419-214-4951.
Thank you for considering this meaningful opportunity to support Catholic education and help more students receive the gift of a Blessed Sacrament School education.
