Liturgical Ministries are a beautiful way to serve God, support the prayer of the parish, and help our community enter more deeply into the celebration of the Mass. Each ministry plays a meaningful role in helping the liturgy unfold with reverence, hospitality, and care.

You do not need to feel like an expert to begin serving. Training is provided, and there is room for people with many different gifts, personalities, ages, and levels of experience. Whether you feel called to proclaim Scripture, assist with Holy Communion, welcome people at the doors, serve at the altar, or help behind the scenes, we would be glad to help you take the next step.

Lectors

Lectors proclaim the Word of God during Mass. Through this ministry, the Scriptures are shared clearly and prayerfully with the gathered community.

Serving as a lector is a meaningful way to grow in love for Scripture and help others listen more attentively to the voice of God. This ministry is a good fit for those who are comfortable reading publicly and desire to serve through careful preparation and prayerful proclamation.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, often called EMHCs, assist with the distribution of Holy Communion during Mass. As a parish dedicated to the Most Blessed Sacrament, this ministry holds a special place in our parish life.

Serving as an EMHC is a beautiful way to help others receive Jesus in the Eucharist. This ministry is open to Catholics who are at least 16 years old and have been fully initiated into the Church through Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. Training is required before being scheduled.

Altar Servers

Altar Servers assist the priest during the celebration of Mass. They help with processions, hold the Roman Missal, assist at the altar, and support the prayerful flow of the liturgy.

Serving at the altar is a wonderful way for young people to grow in confidence, reverence, responsibility, and love for the Mass. This ministry is open to Catholics in 4th grade and up. Training is required before being added to the liturgical ministries schedule.

Homebound Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Homebound Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion bring the Eucharist to parishioners who are unable to attend Mass in person. This ministry extends the love and care of the parish to those who may be sick, elderly, recovering, or homebound.

Serving in this ministry is a powerful way to remind others that they are not forgotten and remain connected to the parish community. Training is required before beginning this ministry.

Ushers

Ushers help create a welcoming and orderly environment at Mass. They greet parishioners and visitors, assist with seating when needed, help with the offertory collection, support the flow of Communion, and distribute bulletins after Mass.

Serving as an usher is a simple but important way to offer hospitality. This ministry is a good fit for those who enjoy welcoming others, noticing practical needs, and helping people feel at home.

Mass Coordinators

Mass Coordinators help prepare for Mass and support the presider and liturgical ministers before and during the liturgy. They help make sure the necessary items are ready, ministers are present, and the various parts of the liturgy are supported with care.

This ministry is especially helpful for those who are organized, attentive, and willing to serve quietly behind the scenes. Mass Coordinators help create peace and order so the parish can pray well together.
