Most Blessed Sacrament is a Roman Catholic parish community in the Diocese of Toledo. We are part of the worldwide Catholic Church, united in faith with Catholics throughout the world and in communion with the pope.
At the heart of what we believe is Jesus Christ. We believe that God loves the world, that He sent His Son for our salvation, and that the Holy Spirit continues to guide, strengthen, and sanctify the Church today.
Our Catholic Faith
As Catholics, our faith is beautifully summarized in the Nicene Creed, which we profess together at Mass. The Creed helps us proclaim what the Church believes about God, creation, salvation, the Church, the sacraments, and eternal life.
We believe in one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that God the Father created all things and made each person in His image and likeness.
We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, became man through the power of the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus entered fully into our human life, taught the way of the Kingdom of God, healed the sick, forgave sinners, welcomed the outcast, and revealed the mercy and love of the Father.
We believe that Jesus suffered, died on the Cross, and rose from the dead for our salvation. Through His Passion, Death, Resurrection, and Ascension, Jesus conquered sin and death and opened for us the promise of eternal life.
We believe that Jesus founded the Church and entrusted His mission to the Apostles. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Church continues to proclaim the Gospel, celebrate the sacraments, teach the faith, and serve the world in the name of Christ.
The Eucharist
As a parish named Most Blessed Sacrament, the Eucharist is at the center of who we are. We believe that Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist: Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.
At every Mass, we gather to hear the Word of God, offer prayer and worship, and receive Jesus in Holy Communion. The Eucharist nourishes us, unites us to Christ, strengthens us as a parish community, and sends us out to love and serve others.
Living as Disciples
Our Catholic faith is not only something we believe. It is a way of life. We are called to follow Jesus, grow in holiness, love God and neighbor, care for the poor and vulnerable, seek forgiveness, practice mercy, and help build the Kingdom of God.
We know that we do not do this perfectly. The Church is made up of people who need God’s grace every day. Yet we believe that God is faithful, that His mercy is greater than our sin, and that He continues to work in and through His Church.
