Mr. Drew F. M. Smith is native to the Diocese of Toledo, raised in Findlay, OH at St. Michael the Archangel Parish. He began his involvement with liturgical music ministry by joining his Parish children’s choir in 2008. After five years, in 2012, he began to take on a leadership role in the Parish’s music ministry as an accompanist, leading several liturgies per week. He then began to substitute at multiple surrounding parishes, including the National Shrine and Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, OH. In 2019, he left home to study Sacred Music and Theology at Walsh University in North Canton, OH. During his studies, he continued to lead worship for various Canton area Catholic Churches, and he participated in the Canton Symphony Chorus in addition to his University Chorale and Chamber Choir. After graduating with a BA in 2022, he was named the Director of Music and Liturgy at Gesú Parish in Toledo, OH. After serving them for a year, he was hired as the Director of Liturgical Music here at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish. In addition to being the parish’s primary accompanist, he also directs our parish and school choirs, and he composes music for us regularly. Mr. Smith has been with us since August 2023.
